ILLiad - Edit Book Request

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about ILLiad

How much does it cost to use Interlibrary Loan?

ILL is a service we offer to our students, faculty and staff, so we do not charge for interlibrary loans. The WVU Libraries often have to pay to obtain items through ILL, but we absorb this cost, rather than passing it along to the you. However, we do charge a service fee of $10.00 for ILL requests that are requested but never picked up.

Why was I disavowed?

Generally, users are disavowed when they do not provide a WVU email address or are not currently affiliated with WVU.

Why is my ILLiad account blocked?

ILLiad users are blocked when they owe fines or have not returned ILL books. When you are blocked, you cannot access your ILLiad accound to request materials, view articles, place renewals or check the status of any items you currently hold. To get specific information on your account, call the ILL office of the library where you pick-up your materials: Downtown, 293-4040 x4650; Evansdale 293-4696 x5107; Health Sciences 293-1930.

Why is the status of my ILLiad request "Finished"? I haven't received it yet.

Most likely, we received your article on paper and it is being sent to you through the US mail. the article has been mailed to your address. When we mail the item out, the ILLiad system updates the record to 'Finished'.

Are ILL/ILLiad and E-ZBorrow the same service?

ILL/ILLiad borrows materials and obtains journal articles from around the world. E-ZBorrow obtains books only (no journal articles) from academic libraries in Pennsylvania.
